Giving food as a holiday gift is great for family, friends, business associates, neighbors, etc. I really enjoy picking delicious treats for the people in my life. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite food gifts to order for others and to receive. Most of these are small businesses that would really appreciate your support this year.

Make sure to order early and check the shipping deadline if you need the items to be delivered by Christmas. If you are concerned about allergens or other dietary concerns, I suggest checking directly with the shop.

Small Companies that Ship Food Gifts Nationwide

  1. Bow Hill Blueberries

A great selection of organic blueberry products. My favorites are the blueberry juice, blueberry confit, and the dried blueberries. They offer individual products or gift boxes.

  2. Seattle Chocolates

Every year I am excited to see the beautifully designed chocolate bars and try the holiday flavors. Available in individual candy bars, boxes of truffles, and mixed chocolate care packages.

  3. Big Island Candies

A real treat from the Hawaiian Islands, Big Island Candies has gift boxes of delicious shortbread, candies, brownies, cookies, and more.

  4. Baird Farm

A fourth generation maple syrup farm in Vermont. The maple syrup comes in individual bottles of different sizes or as a set of three in Amber Rich, Mint Infused, and Spruce Tip Infused. I enjoy the Amber Rich and also like their ketchup, hot sauces, and maple butter.

  5. Penzey’s

I’ve given the spice boxes as Christmas gifts and they are always delicious. Available for cooking, baking, grilling, etc. The sets are also great for someone moving to their first apartment or house. The hot chocolate mix is really tasty.

  6. Mueller Chocolate Company

They have so many incredible chocolate treats. My favorites are the milk chocolate covered graham crackers (dark chocolate is also available) and the chocolate covered pretzels, but you can’t really go wrong. Gift boxes and seasonal holiday baskets are also available and how cute is this chocolate tower for an individual gift.

  7. Asher’s Chocolate Covered Potato Chips

The star of Asher’s for me is the chocolate covered potato chips. They stay crunchy while the chocolate on the outside is deliciously creamy. There is a holiday selection and a gifts section with baskets, boxes, towers, corporate gift options, and more.

  8. Pie Love Seattle

Three kinds of pie are available for shipping in the Pie Love Seattle Etsy shop - S’mores Pie, Devils Pie, and Maple Bourbon Pecan. If you are local to Seattle, holiday ordering for pickup on Queen Anne is available on the main website.

  9. Pete’s Perfect Toffee

For those with strong teeth, this handmade toffee is delicious. Our favorites are Cranberry Cashew, Lavender, and Coconut. If you catch them at a farmers market in Seattle, the Macadamia Nut White Chocolate is also really good.

  10. Purdy Organics

Pickled vegetables from Purdy Organics, make great additions to salads, sandwiches, charcuterie boards, cheese plates, and more. Our favorites are the spicy garlic, sea salt pickled red onions, and jalapeno mix.

  11. Termini Brothers Bakery

A great gift for anyone who loves a classic East Coat bakery. The shining star for me is the cannoli kits because I have yet to find a good cannoli in Seattle. Termini’s also ships cookies, coffee cakes, and more.

  12. Levain Cookies

These 4 inch by 2 inch cookies are a delicious gift. Order one kind or assorted in packs of 4, 8, or 12.

  13. All Purpose Cake Co.

Gluten free, dairy free cakes. All Purpose Cake Co ships nationwide through Performance Kitchen. Order for pickup or find a service for local delivery in the Seattle area on the website.

  14. La Liath Bakery

Based in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, La Liath Bakery often has booths at a lot of farmers markets and craft shows and offers shipping for many of the baked goods. I enjoy the December holiday menu, but also love her cookies.

Bigger Companies

  1. Williams Sonoma

Williams Sonoma offers a variety of sauces, glazes, oils, vinegars, and more. One of my favorites is a spicy chili oil that we drizzle on soups and roasted vegetables. The slow cooker sauces are also really flavorful.

  2. Harry & David

They offer a variety of towers and gift baskets with items that include fruit, cookies, candy, cheese, and more. My favorites are the pears and the moose munch. Harry & David ships a limited selection of baskets to Canada as well.

Local Food Gift Options

These businesses do not offer nationwide shipping, but are great local options for food gifts.

  1. Cajou Creamery

Baltimore, MD. Small batch, handmade100% plant based ice cream made from cashews. Available for porch drops in the Baltimore area. Update: Cajou now offers nationwide shipping at certain times of the year!

  2. Seattle Pops

Seattle, WA. Holiday pop packs and bakery pop packs are available for pickup or local delivery in Seattle and the surrounding area.

  3. Cobb’s Popcorn

Seattle, WA. A Pike Place Market specialty, Cobb’s Popcorn is only available for in person purchases and they sell out quickly. They are doing a collab with Nordstrom for the holiday season, so keep an eye out there as well.

  4. Charcuterie Chic

Philadelphia, PA. Available in individual or multi-person sizes, these charcuterie boxes look amazing. If you are in the Philadelphia area, don’t miss out.
